A funny patch i made on my little modular. Unedited sound file. I'm creating tones with a clock divider and a mixer. I insert a little chaos in to the tone sequence. Constantly changing "melody". And the bass is connected to the melody. . .

A loop. A dirty loop colored by dirt. This time edited i audacity. . . Compressor and limiter.

1 looping envelope and 2 vclfos in a dance (chain connected). I think its harder for this combination to find a nice pattern - equilibrium. It happens sometimes. Maybe the mixture between positive and negative cv confuses the modules. Makes it harder. I start the recording with one of the vclfos in vco-mode. After about 17 sec i swith to lfo-mode. Records and hope that a pattern should emerge. I have been listening, and looking at the wave form, in different modes, but i'm not sure if there is a pattern in this recording. . . Maybe to advanced for me. There is - some -sort of pattern repeating every 22 sec. Or?.

Another sloth lfo test. I wanted to see - expected to see - cyclesrepeating. I don't. I have x controlling frequency and y controllinga filter. This recording is 5 minutes so there should be some repetitiveness. . . It's a regular sloth. . . I see 48 second cycles but they are not the same. Cool. Chaos.

I'm thinking graphic in this patch. . . Maybe not obvious if you don't have the same picture as i have. . . Anyway. As i realize the same patch on my real synth graphics will be submitted on soundcloud - not here. Maybe i could try to do the graphics in ascii but i dont.

Captured sounds from a bugbrand modular system for use in the make noise morphagene.

Really simple patch. Cv from nlc sloth to quantizer (doepfer a-156), via attenuverter. Triggers from doepfer a-160(161). But a tone is only generated if there is a change in cv from sloth. Its not 100% generative :-) first there is no cv connected to the oscillators. I connect them one at a time. The noise is also controlled by the same sloth. The analog delay is connected to barton musical circuits (bmc) 4 quadrant multiplier and panner acting as a panner, controlled by nlc jerk off (still a sick name on a great module). The ehh drum sound is generated by bmc decaying analog noise.

Boink. These are part of a set of "boink" samples i made using a nord micromodular randomly fming to itself. They're really useful for minimal or glitchy techno and tech house. In the spirit of hitting 10000 samples, i've got about 200 more of these, so if you like them get in touch and i can send some more. . .

Maybe a little overlong but it was trimmed down from a 45-minute recording. Try slowing it down to like 5% for some good acidic sounds.

A modular “jazz patch”. This is straight out of the modular synth.

Right channel the sin-wave. Left channel the output from uoki-toki polivoks vcf when i manually sweep the filter frequency. Resonance at max.

Decided to call this sound "electronic modular rhythm" since i found only one other spot on the net with that combination of words. Probably is there some sort of mistake to write like that, but now we are two to make that mistake. This is straight out of the modular. No processing but amplification. Please find a part that loops nice in your ears.

This was not what i was planning to do. Not at all. But i think this sound was kind of fun. I torment my intellijel μvcf a little. This time i edited the sound a little in audacity (eq, compressor and limiter).

The sloth has two outputs x and y. I connected x to control frequency on one oscillator and y to control amplitude on another oscillator. Frequency experiment on left channel. Amplitude experiment on the right. The file starts as the amplitude is 0. Next time the amplitude is 0 (almost) is at about 48 sec. Then 48 sec later, at 1:37 the amplitude is 0 again. The two cycles are not identical. The tones are harder to analyze. . . X and y outputs. I guess those corresponds to x and y in a coordinate system. What does that mean? is one cycle one lap in the butterfly pattern? will the pattern repeat itself? yep, i’m going to ask him…. Nor is frequency really, but they are descriptions that people can relate to easily. the krell patch was conceived by fab wiggler vgermuse, who can be found in the buchla forum!(dcramer, muffwiggler. Org). This is some sort of krell-ish patch. But i don't have an envelope generator with eoc function. . .

My plan was to make a simple krell patch with some added timbre on the voice. The patch got bigger, fm-modulation and feedback in different form was added.

Friday. Random. Why this madness? answer: i have patched s/h (sample and hold) random to doepfer a-160 clock divider and that affects the a-161. For the sake of it i patched one of the gates to the ladik r-110 rnd t/g (random trigger and gate). Result much more randomness than i can use. I can tell you that there is a lot of blinking diodes :-) sounds from doepfer a-110 and 2hp osc and sampler soundmachines ul1uloop.

Cptnal's comment on muffwiggler was an big aha moment. He wrote "you could patch the output of one s&h into the input of the next and get yourself a 12-step shift register. " well i don't have 12 s/h. I have 10. . . I would need a lot of sequenced gates to build that shift register. . . In this patch i use 4 s/h. (s/h or s&h is sample and hold. ).

The frequency analysis reveals a peak around 20khz. Through all of the track? almost. What is that?
